Play your way

Choose Play with JAVI for Stockfish, Challenge a friend for an invitation, or Couch Chess for two people on one device. Select your world, color, difficulty and clock before starting. Tap a piece and a highlighted destination, or drag it. With a keyboard, focus the board, move with arrow keys, and select with Enter or Space.

Online and engine games save automatically. Clocks continue while you read this guide, open About, disconnect or close the app. A timed game is never paused by a dialog.

Learn and discover

Meet Professor JAVI or open Learn for King's Quest. Choose a teaching personality, try moves, and use Show me to watch a demonstration. Discover offers short adventures and practice from reviewed games. Magic Eyes reveals board relationships; What if? opens a separate branch that leaves the original game intact.

Board study and Desktop VAZIR

Online: open Board study to paste a FEN, import a PGN, edit a board or select a saved game, then explore a Stockfish demonstration. Desktop adds local Gemma 4 conversation and image recognition. Check every reconstructed image position: correct pieces, orientation, side to move and special-move rights before confirming. Follow-up questions retain conversation context. AI assistance is unavailable during live human matches.

Friends and memories

Share an invitation from an address your friend can reach. Use public HTTPS when playing across networks. After a game, review, replay, rematch or seek Revenge from an earlier position. The original result remains unchanged. Export PGN, animated GIF or supported WebM video from the game menu; keep the export tab open until it finishes.

Your journey

My journey holds saved games, learning milestones and evidence from reviewed moves. Keep favorites in the Royal Gallery. Download your private recovery code from the profile dialog before changing browsers or clearing storage. Store it like a password. Couch saves belong to the device's browser.

Install and play offline

On Android, open the HTTPS address in Chrome and choose Install app or Add to Home screen. Visit once online to cache the app. Online Couch Chess works offline; server-saved games, Stockfish and multiplayer need connectivity. Desktop runs chess, Stockfish, saved games and Gemma on your computer and works offline after setup. Desktop invitation links are local; use the public Online edition to challenge remote friends.
